Due to some tech failures (thank you Facebook Live!) this week’s preview will take a blog form. Looking on the bright side, it’s a way to try a new format! This week we picked out two hot Kickstarter strategy games: Guards of Atlantis II and Rise of Tribes: Beasts & Bronze!
Guards of Atlantis II: Tabletop Moba is an updated version of the original Guards of Atlantis game which was famous for it’s no randomness detailed combat system. That combat system comes back in this version with some tweaks AND the game brings in some additional really nice content, art and miniatures. Looks like a great buy straight after our strategy hearts!
Rise of Tribes: Beasts & Bronze is an expansion kit for Rise of Tribes which is already funded. As the Kickstarter video amusing points out it adds, well, beasts and bronze! The beasts are new figures and rules which add to the threat on the board and the bronze adds a new technology gameplay mechanic. For us though the star of the upgrade pack is the solo mode. Pretty handy for these virus times!
Both games are already funded and Guardians is Kickstarter only (no retail) so worth checking out before the Kickstarter ends!
